About Beats Workin’

And the story goes...

The idea for Beats Workin’™ started in May 0f 2005. It was around that time Joe felt he had enough of the office environment, after working in finance for 33 years, and needed a change.

One day while walking home from the beach, he thought, "This beats working". This phrase had been running through his head a lot while golfing, fishing, lying in his hammock, and sitting around enjoying margaritas.

Our inspiration: Whiskey

He figured others probably felt the same way, and after trademarking the phrase Beats Workin’™ , he began to think about a character that would do all the leisurely activities he enjoyed. We decided to model the character after our beloved deceased basset hound and enlisted the help of a graphic designer.

The first design was the golfer. We were running a golf tournament in the fall of 2006 and gave away Beats Workin’™ golf shirts to the participants. The shirts were very well received so more designs were created. We plan to continue making new designs and welcome any suggestions you may have.
